Ascoli

Here are some quick shots i took during our visit to Ascoli. Not much, just some churches...Ascoli is full of churches, and old Roman ruins. We saw an ampitheatre..but couldnt go in because it was still under excavation, and hiked along some Roman walls and saw some medieval fortresses, the city is pretty famous for them. The entire town still boasts a lot of its medieval architecture, as did our hostel!

We visited the various art museums, as well as their archeological museum, where they had well preserved Roman mosaics, absolutely stunning! Some areas of the art museums however were closed due to the recent earthquake a few months ago or so. Though Ascoli wasnt too close to the epicenter, it did experience some minor quakage...haha, and just as a precaution they had to close off areas for repair. Unfortunately for me, this specific area was the one full of Rubens and Titian paintings...sigh.
